WHY DO FUEL INJECTORS NEED TO BE SERVICED?

1. PERFORMANCE

Even a small clog (8–10%) can cause misfires or rough idling. Injector flow variance should stay under 5%.

2. Contamination

Fuel can carry particles from tankers, pumps, or your own tank. Some make it past filters, leading to dirty or sticking injectors.

3. Heat Soak

After shutoff, heat bakes fuel residue into varnish—especially in hot zones like cylinders 2 and 3—causing clogs over time.

4. Olefins & Deposits:

Waxy fuel compounds left behind during engine heat soak clog nozzles, especially with frequent short trips.

5. Tiny Tolerances

Injector openings are about the size of a human hair (.002″), making them easy to clog.

6. Leaks

Residual fuel pressure and contaminants can prevent injectors from sealing, eventually causing complete blockages.
